Norwich City have dismissed head coach Liam Manning after suffering a seventh straight home defeat, a run that has left the club 23rd in the Championship.
The 40-year-old took charge in June, following an impressive spell at Bristol City, where he guided them to the play-offs last season.
However, his time at Carrow Road was short-lived, lasting just 17 matches.
Manning’s final game was a 2-1 defeat to Leicester City on Saturday — Norwich’s 11th match without a win and their eighth consecutive home loss in all competitions.
The dismal run has also seen them become the first team in second-tier history to lose their opening seven home league fixtures in a single season.
First-team coach Ryan Garry will step in as interim manager, supported by goalkeeper coach Tony Roberts and set-piece coach Nick Stanley.
Under Manning, Norwich lost 10 of their 15 league games, including a 3-1 defeat to rivals Ipswich Town, their first loss in the East Anglia derby for 16 years.
The club is now searching for their fifth permanent manager since Daniel Farke, who departed in November 2021 after twice leading the Canaries to Premier League promotion.
Garry, who led England’s Under-17s at the 2023 World Cup, takes temporary charge as Norwich look to stabilise their season.
Manning’s coaching journey began with Lommel in Belgium before spells at MK Dons and Oxford United, leading to his appointment at Bristol City in November 2023. Norwich had chosen him over Jack Wilshere, who served briefly as interim boss last season and now manages Luton Town.
His assistant Chris Hogg and analyst James Krause have also left the club.
