Commonwealth Games champion Ferdinand Omanyala will be aiming for a strong performance when he competes in his second race at the Athletics South Africa (ASA) Grand Prix on Wednesday night.
After finishing in third place during his season opener last weekend, the 29-year-old Kenyan is determined to improve in the second round.
Speaking to Telecomasia.net from South Africa, the fastest man in Africa shared that he has been gradually finding his rhythm as the season progresses and remains hopeful for continued improvement moving forward.
This race marks his third competitive outing of the season, following his debut on home soil last month.
“South Africa has always been good to me, and I often start my season here with positive results. I’m aiming for overall improvement, and I’ve been working closely with my coaches to identify areas where we can improve. While I’m optimistic for a strong race, I’m not putting any pressure on myself this season. I just want to enjoy athletics,” Omanyala told Telecomasia.
The Kenyan sprint sensation remains hopeful for a successful campaign, with all preparations focused on the World Championships set to take place in Japan later this year.
