The 254 Motorsports Club has announced its 2026 Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) round one of the 2026 at Stoni Athi Grille on July 31-August 1, an event sanctioned by Motorsport Federation Kenya (MFK).
The event is said to be entry free, making it accessible to motorsport enthusiasts and the public, as this is aimed at removing barriers and boosting the competition for the new campaign.
The launch of the 254 Motorsport Club will put the federation on its feet and it’s a milestone for Kenya’s sports scene with a high level of passion and interest from the public.
During the announcement, the President of the Motorsports Kenya Federation, Altaf Ganatra, said the federation is fully operational and delivering on its vision.
“Now the real work begins. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be focused on getting the federation fully on its feet, putting the right structures in place and delivering on the vision we’ve all worked so hard to create,” Ganatra said.
Organisers say the route that the rally will be run on 100 percent gravel competitive stages, with liaisons on a mix of tarmac and gravel, with the route renamed by special stages after Kenya’s Big Five wildlife.
Participants will tackle 7 stages covering a total distance of 139.70 km, within an overall route of 158.91 km. Champions will be awarded, with the winner will taking 30 points, second place 24 points and the third place 21 points, while finishers will earn 1 point.
Taking the lead will be Clerk of Course Pipii Renu assisted by Deputy Clerk George Njoroge, MK Steward Cynthia Muthoni and Club Steward Mwaura Njoroge, Secretary of Steward Sayka Sparrow, and Milan Kantai as Event Secretary.
