The National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) has announced that International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach will visit Kenya from October 24 to 26.

NOC-K President Paul Tergat shared the news highlighting the significance of Bach’s visit for the country.

“We are deeply honoured to host President Bach and the IOC directors, whose support for our programs, athlete scholarships, and global engagement has been invaluable,” Tergat stated. “This visit reaffirms Kenya’s commitment to fostering sporting excellence and expanding opportunities for athletes at all levels.”

Bach will be accompanied by a delegation of senior IOC directors, providing Kenya with a chance to showcase its rich cultural heritage. His visit is seen as a pivotal moment in the nation’s ongoing efforts to enhance its global standing in sports, boost athlete development programs, and strengthen partnerships within the Olympic Movement.

The timing of Bach’s visit is particularly significant following Kenya’s impressive performance at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, as the country prepares for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Other key activities planned include meetings with Kenya’s Olympic sports leaders to discuss the future of Olympic sports, engagements with Olympic legends, and a tour of the Kip Keino Orphanage, where the next generation of athletes is being nurtured.
