Lydia Nyasikera, who triumphed in the senior women’s 10km at Friday’s Nairobi Region Cross Country Championships at Nairobi West Prison Grounds, is now focused on securing victory at the National Cross-Country Championships.
Nyasikera says there’s no time to rest on her laurels, as she is already back on the training trail to prepare for the next challenge.
“My goal for this year has always been to compete at the nationals, and that’s why I participated here today. I’ll continue training to ensure I’m in top form for the nationals. Physically and mentally, I feel great,” she said.

Nyasikera completed the 10km race in 35:24.7, crossing the finish line ahead of Jacinta Kamau (36:44.9) in second and Njoki Ndung’u (37:36.2) in third.
