Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has pledged to end fragmentation in Kenya’s health sector through full digitization, assuring Development Partners in Health Kenya (DPHK) of stronger coordination and transparency.

Speaking during a high-level consultative meeting in Nairobi, Duale said all health systems must now be certified under the Digital Health Agency as per the Digital Health Act.

The move aims to improve service delivery, enable telemedicine, monitor medical supplies, and ensure care is provided only by qualified professionals.

“We are building an integrated digital framework to align donor support with national goals and ensure long-term sustainability,” Duale stated.

He also outlined progress on Universal Health Coverage (UHC), anchored on six pillars, including social health insurance, digital health systems, and a robust health workforce.

DPHK Chair Dr. Serawit Bruck-Landais reaffirmed the group’s support for Kenya’s UHC goals under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

The CS emphasized the importance of a unified approach “one plan, one budget, one monitoring framework” to replace fragmented efforts. He also addressed KEMSA reforms, resource mapping, and emergency response improvements.

Duale was joined by senior ministry officials and international partners including WHO’s Dr. Abdourahmane Diallo.
