The National Land Commission has announced a fresh round of deletions, corrections and additions to land parcels earmarked for the expansion of the Nyali Bridge–Mtwapa–Kwa Kadzengo–Kilifi Road.
In a gazette notice dated November 14, NLC chairperson Gershom Otachi said the adjustments are being made on behalf of the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), which is implementing the project.
According to the notice, eight parcels listed earlier will be removed from the project, while 19 new parcels have been added. The commission is also correcting 22 other entries that were either wrongly listed or require updates from previous notices.
“In pursuance of the Land Act… the National Land Commission intends to acquire additional parcels of land on behalf of KeNHA,” the notice stated.
The commission has urged affected landowners to visit NLC offices in Nairobi or the county coordinator’s offices in Kilifi and Mombasa to review maps and details of the affected plots.
NLC will also hold hearings for compensation claims between January 20 and 23, 2026. The specific dates, venues and times are outlined in the gazette notice.
“On behalf of KeNHA, NLC gives notice of inquiry for the hearing of claims to compensation for interested parties in the land required for the dualling of the Nyali Bridge–Mtwapa–Kwa Kadzengo–Kilifi Road,” the commission said.
The update comes three weeks after NLC issued another notice announcing plans to acquire a 0.1818-hectare parcel of land in Nairobi for the Eastern Missing Link Road, to be undertaken by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA).
For that project, affected parties were directed to submit written compensation claims along with identification documents, proof of land ownership and bank details.
