The decade-long feud between rap queens Nicki Minaj and Cardi B has once again escalated to new levels, this time by spectacularly spilling over into their children.
A series of tweets posted on X (formerly Twitter) saw both artists taking thinly veiled jabs at each other while going for the children of their arch-rivals. Nicki Minaj penned a letter to Cardi B’s daughter, Kulture, acknowledging that her own words can be used against her in the future. She called Kulture a “cute child” and expressed hope that the little girl had not been caught up in grown-up drama. Minaj apologized, saying she did not mean that children were part of the drama.
Conversely, Cardi B aimed a tweet at Nicki Minaj’s daughter, calling her “papa perc.” In her tweet, Cardi indicated that the personal issues of Nicki were affecting her parenting. She further escalated by making allegations about problems of generations, which outraged fans who felt that the remarks stepped across a raw line.
The heated back-and-forth soon went viral and was causing public opinion to be both in favor and against. Some social media platforms condemned both artists for involving children in their feuds, yet others were sticking up for their favorites and blaming the other side for going too far.
This latest confrontation shows just how intense the Minaj-Cardi rivalry has been over the years. Competition in the industry that started has often escalated to individual insults, and here once more, the involvement of their children has had most calling on the two to draw the line.
