The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested and charged Michael Kilonzo Mualuko over claims of using a forged Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate to secure employment at the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC).

The case stems from allegations that Mualuko submitted a counterfeit certificate, allegedly issued by Bishop Ndingi High School, during the job application process.

Following a detailed investigation, the EACC confirmed that the certificate was falsified.

The findings were forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), which approved the recommendation to proceed with criminal charges.

Mualuko was arraigned before Senior Principal Magistrate Ondieki and faced multiple counts, including forgery, uttering a false document, deceiving a principal, and presenting a forged academic certificate.

He pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released on a cash bail of KSh100,000 or an alternative bond of KSh1 million.

The case is scheduled for mention on October 22.
