The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have arrested Stephen Mugambi Colbert, who, together with his accomplices still at large, allegedly defrauded a Nigerian national 150 million Naira (KSh 12 million).
In the incident, Mugambi and his accomplices, while presenting themselves as genuine businessmen, approached the victim pretending that they were in a position to hire a private jet to transport unspecified investment funds from Kenya to Nigeria.
Unbeknownst to the scheme, the victim made the payment amounting to KSh 12 million, only to realise later that he had been conned when he could no longer reach Mugambi and his friends.
The Nigerian would later report the matter to the DCI and a manhunt for the perpetrators led to the arrest of Mugambi.
