Nairobi Design Week 2025 is coming to a close this Sunday after a week-long celebration of creativity, culture, and innovation. Running from March 8th to March 16th, this year’s event marks its 10th anniversary with the theme “We Are the Ancestors.” The festival reflects on the influence of past creative arts on today’s designs and how contemporary works will impact future generations.

Held at The Waterfront Karen, the festival has offered a wide range of exhibitions, workshops, and discussions. Open daily from 12 PM to 8 PM, it has provided a platform for both established and emerging designers to showcase their work, from traditional crafts to cutting-edge innovations. Attendees have had the opportunity to explore Kenya’s diverse design landscape and engage with the latest trends.

As the event enters its final weekend, there are several exciting activities lined up. A major highlight is the Nairobi Design Party at The Alchemist Bar in Westlands. The party will bring together artists, designers, and creative enthusiasts for a night of networking, music, and celebration. Tickets are available for KSh 1,000. At The Waterfront Karen, ongoing exhibitions and workshops continue, with a chance to participate in the interactive “We Are the Ancestors” game.

Nairobi Design Week 2025 has been a vibrant celebration of the creative industry, showcasing the talent and innovation shaping the future of design. With just a few days left, those who haven’t yet attended still have the opportunity to experience the festival before it wraps up on Sunday.
