Kenya Police FC midfielder Mohammed Bajaber has been ruled out of the Harambee Stars’ upcoming international friendlies against Chad after sustaining a right thigh injury during training on Tuesday.

Team doctor Wycliffe Makanga confirmed the injury and announced that Bajaber will not be part of the squad traveling to Morocco.

No replacement has been named, leaving 23 players set to depart tonight for the matches, scheduled for June 7 and 10 in Marrakech.

Additionally, veteran midfielder Victor Wanyama, who had been named in the provisional squad for a potential return to the national team, will also miss the fixtures.

Wanyama, now playing for Dunfermline Athletic FC in Scotland, had been set for a much-anticipated comeback after retiring from international duty in 2021.

However, he has requested to be excused from the friendlies due to personal commitments in the United Kingdom.
