Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and devastation caused by flash floods and landslides in Bulambuli District, Eastern Uganda.
The tragedy, triggered by heavy rainfall, has claimed 13 lives, with over 100 individuals still reported missing.
In a statement, Mudavadi conveyed his condolences on behalf of Kenyans, offering support to the affected families and communities.
“I extend heartfelt condolences to the families of the 13 individuals who have lost their lives, as well as to those who have been displaced or lost their homes and livelihoods in this calamity,” he said.
Mudavadi commended Ugandan authorities for their ongoing evacuation, search, and rescue operations and expressed hope for the safe recovery of those unaccounted for.
“To all the affected families and our brothers and sisters in Uganda, we stand in solidarity with you and wish you strength and resilience during this difficult time of loss and recovery,” Mudavadi added.
