Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has said the Broad-Based Government remains firmly on course to deliver President William Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda and position Kenya among the world’s leading economies.
Murkomen said the country’s economy has stabilised under Ruto’s leadership and is now on a steady path of growth, pointing to the revival of stalled projects and the rollout of new development programmes across the country.
The Cabinet Secretary cited roads, modern markets and affordable housing among projects being implemented as part of the government’s development agenda.
“The Broad-Based Government is firmly on course to deliver on the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda and position Kenya among the world’s leading economies,”he said.
He also highlighted reforms in the health, education and agriculture sectors, saying they are aimed at improving the wellbeing of Kenyans and supporting national development.
On security, Murkomen said the government had confronted threats including terrorism, banditry and criminal gangs while implementing reforms intended to transform the National Police Service into a more professional and citizen-centred institution.
Murkomen made the remarks in Naivasha, Nakuru County, where he joined President William Ruto, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, ODM leader Oburu Oginga and other leaders from the Broad-Based Coalition for a working retreat.
The retreat is bringing together leaders from across the coalition to review the government’s progress, strengthen coordination and discuss ways of accelerating development.
Murkomen commended the leaders for placing national interests above individual and political considerations.
He said the commitment demonstrated at the retreat would help advance efforts to build a prosperous and united Kenya.
The Naivasha meeting comes as the government continues to consolidate the Broad-Based arrangement while reviewing its development priorities and shaping a long-term national vision beyond Vision 2030.
