President William Ruto has joined Kenyans in mourning the passing of Bishop Johana Gaceni, describing him as a devoted man of God whose teachings deeply nourished the spiritual lives of many.
In a heartfelt message of condolence shared on Wednesday, President Ruto paid tribute to the late bishop’s gift for interpreting Biblical scripture and offering comfort to the faithful through his sermons.
“His teachings were spiritually-nourishing, and he immaculately interpreted Biblical scripture for the congregation,” the President said.
President Ruto offered prayers for strength to the bereaved family, friends, and the wider Christian community, urging them to find solace in the word of God.
“May God grant the family and friends strength to bear with the loss of Bishop Johana Gaceni. Be comforted by the word of the Lord in Job 5:11: ‘The lowly he sets on high, and those who mourn are lifted to safety,’” he stated.
The President concluded his message with a solemn tribute:
