Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano has called for enhanced unity among leaders from the Mount Kenya region, saying cohesion is essential to accelerating development and ensuring effective representation.
Speaking during the Mount Kenya Leaders Caucus at Glee Hotel, CS Miano noted that the government is implementing numerous programmes aimed at uplifting communities across the region. She urged leaders to work together to safeguard these gains and champion the interests of the people.
Miano emphasized that strong collaboration among elected and appointed leaders would help unlock more opportunities for growth, tourism, and investment.
“The government is doing a lot for our people, and it is important that we represent them well. Unity is the foundation for development,” she said.
The caucus, attended by Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, parastatal chiefs, and senior government officials, focused on strengthening regional cooperation and aligning development priorities with the Kenya Kwanza agenda.
Miano called on leaders to remain focused on service delivery and to avoid divisions that could slow down the region’s progress.
