Kapseret Member of Parliament (MP) Oscar Sudi has lauded President William Ruto’s recent decision to integrate members of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) into his broad-based government.

Speaking to residents on Saturday, August 31, 2024, Sudi described the move as a strategic step towards uniting Kenyans across different tribes.

Sudi emphasized that the inclusion of former opposition members was a well-considered move following attempts by certain key leaders to destabilize Ruto’s administration.

Though he did not name these individuals, Sudi suggested they were motivated by a desire to claim top government positions for themselves rather than focusing on national unity.

Sudi praised President Ruto for his willingness to make difficult decisions for the country’s benefit, including the potential restructuring of Principal Secretaries (PSs) positions.

He encouraged the president to continue expanding the government to ensure broader representation and promote unity.

The MP also defended the youth who participated in the protests, arguing they were manipulated by self-serving leaders aiming to undermine the government.

He urged the public not to blame the young demonstrators, who were, according to Sudi, used by these leaders to pursue their own agendas.

The President’s recent cabinet reshuffle, which saw the inclusion of ODM members, was a response to ongoing protests and unrest across the country.

The restructured cabinet has since led to a reduction in anti-government demonstrations and a more stable political climate.
