The Ministry of Health has restated its commitment to working more closely with the private sector to boost Kenya’s health workforce. The message was delivered on Thursday by Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, during the graduation of the Class of 2025 at The Nairobi Hospital Cicely McDonell College of Health Sciences.
This year’s ceremony, themed “The Future of Health Care: Embracing Technology, Research and Innovation,” highlighted how quickly the health sector is changing and the growing demand for professionals who can adapt to new technologies and emerging health needs.
The graduating class featured nurses, midwives, mental health practitioners and other specialised health workers graduates who will join the frontline of patient care, disease prevention and community health support across the country.
In her remarks, PS Muthoni praised the college for maintaining strong training standards and urged the new graduates to uphold compassion, integrity and professionalism as they enter the workforce.
She noted that their exposure to technology, research and innovation places them in a strong position to support the government’s efforts toward Universal Health Coverage and to contribute to a stronger, more resilient health system.
