The political firebrand and controversial activist Miguna Miguna has launched a blistering critique of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, claiming Kenyatta’s recent visit to the tomb of the late opposition leader Raila Odinga was a hollow, guilt-driven gesture.

In a series of intense social media posts that have since gone viral, Miguna did not mince words, framing Kenyatta’s act as “hypocritical and deceitful,” and stressing that genuine reconciliation opportunities were deliberately missed while Odinga was still alive.

Miguna opened his attack by focusing on the 2017 presidential election, which was nullified by the Supreme Court but ultimately led to the controversial repeat poll.

“Had Uhuru Kenyatta not stolen Raila Odinga’s victory in 2017,” Miguna wrote, “Raila would have served his 10 years, acquired and bedecked the CGH moniker while alive—and not as some posthumous pity.”

The lawyer went on to question the former President’s motives in the initial 2013 election as well: “Why didn’t Uhuru cede power even in 2013 and allow Raila to become president?”

The core of Miguna’s argument rests on a decades-long history of alleged betrayal targeting the Luo community, which he stressed should never be forgotten.

“Luos have never forgotten what his father did to Jaramogi, Mboya, Agwenge and millions of Luos over decades. Never, ever, tell us to forget!” he stated, referencing Kenyatta’s father, Kenya’s first President, Jomo Kenyatta.
