Yanga FC striker Aziz Ki recently began a lavish three-day wedding celebration with Tanzanian socialite and entrepreneur Hamisa Mobetto. On Saturday, Ki marked the start of the festivities by paying an elaborate dowry, which included 30 cows and an undisclosed sum of money. This traditional gesture was part of the couple’s commitment to one another, as they celebrated their union in an extravagant ceremony.
Ki made a grand entrance at the venue, arriving in a convoy of luxury cars. He was joined by several of his Yanga teammates, as well as club president Hersi Said and spokesperson Ally Kamwe. The groom was dressed in elegant African attire, ready to be warmly received by his bride-to-be.
Once inside, Ki was led by the bridesmaids, who joyously danced to vibrant local music, to the dowry negotiation room. There, he finalized the traditional payment, marking a significant step in the marriage process. Following the completion of the dowry exchange, the couple changed into fresh outfits for their engagement celebration.
Emotions ran high as Ki slid the wedding ring onto Mobetto’s finger, signifying his unwavering commitment. Mobetto, visibly moved, was overcome with tears as Ki’s gesture reaffirmed their bond. The two then shared a brief kiss, with their guests cheering and capturing the beautiful moment in photos.
The ceremony is just the beginning of their three-day wedding celebration. It will be followed by the Nikkah, a traditional Islamic marriage contract signing, on Sunday. The festivities will culminate with a grand celebration on Wednesday, February 19.
