Kenyan socialite Manzi Wa Mombasa has shared the emotional reason behind naming her son after the late TikToker Brian Chira, who tragically passed away on March 16, 2024. Chira, known for his vibrant online presence, was laid to rest on March 27, 2024, in Ingitei village, Kiambu County.

In an interview with SPM Buzz, Manzi explained that she wanted to keep Chira’s memory alive, especially since he had no children of his own. “Chira’s death shocked us all. He didn’t have a child, and it’s said that when someone passes without leaving behind descendants, their name fades away. That’s why I decided to name my son after him,” she said.

Manzi revealed that her son was conceived through IVF (In Vitro Fertilization), as she exclusively dates women. She also shared that raising the funds for the procedure was a significant effort. “I sold a piece of land for KSh 600,000 and topped up the remaining amount to make it happen. I wanted a boy, and naming him Chira was my main motivation for going through with the process,” she explained.

The socialite also expressed her gratitude for the support she received from Chira’s family, particularly his grandmother. “She came to bless the baby, and was so happy to see him. She even cooked for me and bought things for us. She really loves this child,” Manzi said, showing appreciation for the warm reception from Chira’s family.

Through this heartfelt decision, Manzi Wa Mombasa hopes to ensure that Brian Chira’s legacy lives on through her son.
