New research has established that the majority of Kenyans want embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to be impeached.
According to the findings by TIFA Research published on Monday, October 7, 41% of Kenyans support the impeachment motion that was tabled in the National Assembly.
"The primary reason for supporting the Deputy President's impeachment is the perception that he exhibits a biased attitude and rhetoric favouring his own community from the Mt. Kenya region," said TIFA.
On the other hand, 38% of the sample polled opposed the impeachment, with the majority claiming the DP is being attacked unfairly.
Further in the research, should Gachagua be impeached, 37% of the respondents expect Interior CS Kithure Kindiki to be named the new deputy president.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and MP Ndindi Nyoro came second with 5% support with Governor Anne Waiguru being endorsed by 3% of the respondents.
