Birthday wish lists seem to be the new fashion among Kenya’s celebrities, with the celebrities proceeding to share what they would desire as a present on their birthday. Joining the list is celebrated actress and social media content creator Jacky Vike, better known by her stage name Awinja.
Awinja’s birthday wish list has elicited mixed reactions among her fans. No designer handbags or holidays for the actress. Instead, she is just asking for small, traditional treats.
Her offerings include kuku kienyeji prepared in some way : roasted, cooked on firewood, or even with mrenda and ugali. She then added avocado, ordinary maize meal that has not been graded in any way, and for dessert, her previous order was the plain “miwa refu nono” (long, thick sugarcane).
Awinja, over time, has built a huge following due to her acting talent and also her wit and naturalness. The special birthday list is a reflection of the same lady that leaves her fans with smiles on both television and social media.
