The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has given an update after some students raised concerns about not receiving their letters, even as reporting dates for new students draw closer.
KUCCPS said the transfer process is still ongoing and students will not need to collect the letters physically. Instead, the letters will be uploaded to the KUCCPS student portal once they are ready.
“The processing of the transfer letters is ongoing. The letter will be generated automatically for download by the applicant through the student portal as soon as it is ready,” KUCCPS said.
However, the agency has directed those students who applied for the transfers to continue monitoring their portals for any changes since they will be able to download their letters from there immediately it becomes available.
This delay has made it difficult for some students to know where they will be reporting since universities are already preparing to receive the next set of students.
Others should consider seeking clarification from KUCCPS after the closing date for inter-university transfers on August 14.
The transfer window gave opportunity for the students who did not get placements in the institutions of their choice to apply for the change of their institution.
Since the window is now closed, students are waiting for KUCCPS to complete the processing of their application and give the result.
It has made them worried since the reporting dates are very close.
The students allocated at University of Nairobi are expected to report from August 24 while others will join other universities later in August and early September.
As for those students who have not yet received their letters, there is no exact date when all the letters will be out since KUCCPS has not issued it.
Currently, the agency has told them to keep checking their student portals, where the letters will appear automatically once processing is complete.
