A new mobile app, Kinga App, has been launched in Kenya to improve services in the boda boda sector. The platform was unveiled in Nairobi on March 29
Kinga App is expected to bring order to the industry, which is one of the largest in the country, with millions of boda boda riders making a living from it.
Kenya’s boda boda sector is one of the biggest in the country, with millions of riders earning a living from it. However, many still face challenges such as insecurity, lack of access to loans, and limited health support.
The new app is seeking to improve the lives of the riders by giving them access to some of the things they have been unable to access. These include loans, health support, and a way of identifying genuine riders.
It also allows the riders to track their earnings through the app, which can be used to make payments to them.
While launching the app, Data Lock CEO Vincent Sila explained that the main reason behind the creation of the app is to bring some order to the sector and provide more opportunities to the riders.
According to Sila, most of the riders in the sector have been working without support for a long time, and the app is meant to help improve their working conditions.
The app is also expected to provide safety to the riders and their clients. The riders will be registered and tracked, which will make it easier to track their movements and curb crime in the sector.
Besides transport, the app is also expected to provide another opportunity for country advertising. The businesses will be able to reach their clients through the bodaboda riders, and this will provide another platform for businesses to promote their products.
This will also provide the bodaboda riders with an alternative source of income.
However, the success of the application will depend on the support of different entities in the country, including the government, different businesses, and financial institutions.
If the app is successful, it is likely to change the bodaboda sector in the country and make it easier for the riders to improve their income.
