Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equitable development, assuring Kenyans that no region will be sidelined in the implementation of key projects across the country.

Speaking on Friday during a meeting with 1,500 residents from Embu County at his official residence in Karen, Kindiki emphasized the importance of unity and inclusivity in leadership.

“We are carrying the entire country along. We want to ensure that no part of the country is left behind,” Kindiki said. “Leadership is not favouring one over the other. It is carrying everyone along.”

The Deputy President urged Embu residents to take an active role in identifying their development priorities and to monitor ongoing projects to ensure timely completion.

He noted that such engagements would be replicated with delegations from other counties to discuss their unique development needs.

“This meeting is solely to discuss development priorities and how to move the county forward. I will be meeting various delegations from all counties and having similar discussions,” Kindiki assured.

Kindiki reiterated his resolve to fulfill the mandate entrusted to him by President William Ruto, emphasizing accountability and a results-driven approach.

“When we go back to the people, I will have to account for the time I have been in this office,” he stated. “I have no choice but to deliver on the mandate I have been assigned. Improving the lives of the people is what is keeping me awake.”

The Deputy President dismissed any distractions from early political campaigns, emphasizing that his focus remained on addressing critical issues affecting Kenyans.

“It will be the height of political irresponsibility to call you and start discussing politics when we have so many other important matters to address,” he said. “When the time to politick comes, we will put on befitting attire and get out for serious campaigns.”

Kindiki highlighted Embu County’s progress, noting significant advancements in roads, agriculture, electricity, and youth and women empowerment. He called on residents to hold him accountable for delivering on the promises made.

“We need to sort out issues in coffee, tea, Muguka, roads, electricity connection, and youth and women empowerment,” he said. “After this meeting, put pressure on me, ask me what I have done for Embu people.”
