Kenya and Tunisia are poised to deepen their diplomatic and economic ties through enhanced trade, value addition, and industrial cooperation, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has announced.
Speaking after a high-level meeting with H.E. Anouar Ben Youssef, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to Kenya, Mudavadi emphasized the growing strategic partnership between the two nations.
He noted that trade and investment remain the cornerstone of their relationship and highlighted the untapped potential in sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, and technology.
“Our engagement reaffirmed a shared commitment to broaden bilateral collaboration and unlock new opportunities, especially through value addition and industrial cooperation,” said Mudavadi.

The meeting also set the stage for the Inaugural Kenya–Tunisia Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC), which both leaders described as a critical platform to further formalize and strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The upcoming JCC is expected to address key sectors including infrastructure development, education exchange, green energy, and regional security collaboration.
“The Kenya-Tunisia relationship stands at a promising juncture,” Mudavadi added. “We are looking forward to institutionalizing our partnership through the JCC, which will be instrumental in aligning our economic and diplomatic goals.”
The Tunisian envoy also expressed optimism about the future of the partnership, praising Kenya’s role as a gateway to the East African market and a reliable partner in Africa’s development agenda.
