Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho has expressed confidence in Kenya’s readiness to host the upcoming Kenya Mining Investment Conference and Expo (MICE) 2026, set for April 28–29.
Speaking after convening a high-level progress review meeting, Joho said preparations for the landmark event are in their final stages. The meeting brought together key stakeholders and senior officials from the State Department for Mining, led by Principal Secretary Harry Kimtai.
Joho noted that he had received comprehensive updates from various organizing committees, expressing satisfaction with the steady progress made so far.
“We are confident that MICE 2026 will be a landmark event,” he said, adding that the conference is expected to attract policymakers, global investors, mining companies, financial institutions, development partners, technology providers, and mining communities.
According to the CS, the forum will serve as a strategic platform to showcase Kenya’s vast mineral potential while unlocking new investment opportunities in the sector.
He emphasized that the initiative is part of broader efforts to position Kenya as a leading destination for sustainable and responsible mining, amid growing global interest in the country’s natural resources.
