A new ranking of top-performing Cabinet Secretaries has spotlighted leaders spearheading transformative programs across Kenya. The list, led by Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku, highlights key achievements in governance, healthcare, tourism, security, and economic development under the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Topping the list, Geoffrey Ruku has been hailed for his pioneering efforts in public service reform. Under his stewardship, Kenya has rolled out comprehensive e-governance platforms to streamline service delivery and reduce red tape.

He has implemented performance contracts across state agencies to enhance accountability and modernized workforce training, all while enforcing anti-corruption systems to bolster integrity in government. In second place is Aden Duale who has steered reforms in the healthcare sector.

His leadership has expanded Universal Health Coverage, increased the number of equipped hospitals, and strengthened pandemic preparedness. Duale’s focus on workforce development has also boosted the number of trained healthcare professionals serving Kenyans.

Tourism CS Rebecca Miano ranks fourth, credited with reviving the tourism sector post-COVID-19. She has expanded international marketing efforts, developed cultural and eco-tourism projects, and attracted private investment into tourism infrastructure. Wildlife protection and anti-poaching programs have also flourished under her leadership.

Digital transformation has been accelerated by fifth-ranked William Kabogo, who has driven nationwide broadband rollout and digital skills training. Innovation hubs and cybersecurity frameworks are also part of his robust digital agenda.

Others recognized include Interior CS Onesmus Kipchumba (6th) for strengthening security through smart surveillance and community policing, and Sports CS Salim Mvurya (7th) for youth empowerment and sports infrastructure development.

Lands and Housing CS Alice Wahome (8th) earned praise for affordable housing projects and digitizing land registries, while Treasury CS John Mbadi (9th) was commended for fiscal reforms and economic stabilization measures.

Environment CS Deborah Barasa (10th) was recognized for her climate action initiatives, including tree planting and adoption of renewable energy. Water CS Eng. Eric Muuga (11th) rounded off the list, lauded for increasing access to clean water and improving irrigation systems for food security.

The performance ranking reflects the government’s drive for impactful leadership and results-driven governance. Through strategic investments and reform-driven leadership, the Kenya Kwanza administration continues to steer the nation toward a more prosperous and inclusive future.
