Kenya, through a virtual event, has made a significant move towards sustainable transport with the Africa EV Mobility Expo, which will be held in Nairobi this December.

The virtual event attracted policymakers, corporate leaders, and investors who exchanged views on the policy, infrastructure, and financing that would be necessary to speed up electric vehicle (EV) adoption in Africa.

The importance of public-private partnerships in achieving a rapid transition to clean mobility was the theme of several speeches at the launch – among these Eng. Michael Muchiri, KenInvest CEO John Mwendwa, and Caroline Mutiso of GIZ.

The main Expo, which will be held concurrently with the Africa Motor Show, is from December 4th to 6th at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

The event, organizers say, will highlight the breakthrough in EV technology, facilitate personal and business contacts and present Nairobi as the center of the continent’s clean transport plan.
