President William Ruto has reconfirmed Kenya’s resolve to enhance diplomatic ties and economic bilateral relationship with South Korea after a meeting with South Korea National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik at State House Nairobi.
The talks also discussed boosting co-operation in several important areas like trade and investment education science, technology and manufacturing as the two sides try to cement their traditional partnership.
The head of state assured that Kenya is working with South Korea to open up more trade opportunities by removal of bottlenecks preventing Kenyan exports of agricultural products in accessing the South Korean market.
The President also acknowledged that the two countries’ collaboration continues to promote their common goals of economic prosperity and technological innovation.
Speaker Woo Won-shik also covered the occasion on which the charters were awarded to the Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and the Kenya Medical Research Institution.
Ruto commented that South Korea contributed A lot to the foundation and development of KAIST. It considers KIST as the key to boost human resource capacity in Science and Technology leading to the national transformation.
“We appreciate the partnership of South Korea in the development of KAIST, an institution that is strengthening our human resource capacity in science and technology to drive national transformation.” Ruto said
