The government has allocated KShs 200 million for the rehabilitation of nine primary schools in the county, including Ng’arachi, Kirima, Mahua, Muteta, Thigio, Gatarima, Mwenje, Nyakinyua, and Milimani primary schools, to ensure that students can return to school in conducive environments.

“We understand the importance of education in the development of our country, and these efforts are geared towards providing our children with quality learning facilities,” President Ruto added.

Additionally, the president unveiled plans for further boosting Laikipia’s development through energy access. Over KShs 1.12 billion is being invested in connecting more than 9,000 households to electricity in the region.

This initiative, part of the Last Mile Connectivity Programme, is expected to accelerate the socio-economic growth of Laikipia by improving access to power for both domestic and business use.

The president also officiated the rehabilitation of Ng’arachi Comprehensive School and flagged off the Last Mile Connectivity Programme in the area, marking another milestone in the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure in rural areas.

Further demonstrating his commitment to supporting local communities, President Ruto delivered a school bus to Dr. Wachira Secondary School in Kiamariga, easing transportation challenges for students. He also handed over car wash machines to boda boda operators from Laikipia, aimed at improving their income-generating potential and livelihoods.

“As we continue to implement these initiatives, we are focused on empowering our people, improving their living standards, and ensuring that Laikipia remains a region of peace, growth, and opportunity,” President Ruto concluded.
