Over a thousand Kenyan citizens and foreigners of different faith visited Jamia mosque in Nairobi County on Saturday to experience Islam faith teachings as it hosted its 8th open day.

The Imam at Jamia mosque Sheikh Jamaludin Osman says the aim of the open day is to allow people from other faiths to experience Islam faith and dispel misconceptions that surround Islam religious teachings.

But like its tradition before entering the mosque women were veiled as per the religious doctrines .Several sheikhs led by the Imam at Jamia mosque sheikh Jamaludin Osman were tasked to explain various concerns by visitors

.According to Sheikh Jamaludin Osman, the aim of the open day is to create cohesion and to make people from other faiths better understand Islam and dispel misconception about the religious teachings.

The Iman also urged citizens to embrace unity and reject divisions. The event according attracted over 1000 visitors majority being Kenyan citizens and a few foreigners.
