Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Rugby suffered a setback in the ongoing SportPesa National 7s Rugby Circuit after falling 31-21 to Strathmore Leos in the Embu 7s final held on Sunday at the ASK Njukiri Showgrounds.

KCB, who had earlier clinched titles at the Driftwood 7s in Mombasa and the Christie 7s in Nairobi, faced a challenging outing—first at the Prinsloo 7s and now at the hands of a dominant Strathmore Leos side.

The varsity team, under head coach Willis Ojal, celebrated their fourth consecutive final appearance with a spirited performance, underlining their ambition to secure the overall circuit title.

In the bronze final, Menengai Oilers comfortably defeated MMUST Rugby Club 31-0 to claim third place. Meanwhile, Kenya Harlequin edged out Kabras Sugar 15-5 to secure fifth position.

The Catholic Monks mirrored Quins’ performance in the Challenge Trophy final, also registering a 15-5 victory over Mean Machine. In the 13th place playoff, Impala RFC cruised past Nondies with a 19-5 win.
