The Isiolo High Court has issued conservatory orders blocking the County Assembly from proceeding with the impeachment of Governor Abdi Guyo. The move follows a petition filed on June 13, 2025, challenging the motion dated June 10.

Justice Nyaga Mbogo’s order prohibits the Assembly and its agents from admitting, debating, or processing the motion, originally slated for June 17. The court also ordered that the petitioner be given a copy of the motion and all supporting documents within 48 hours.

This legal pause offers temporary relief amid rising political tensions in Isiolo. Earlier today, a group of residents representing various ethnic communities voiced support for the impeachment, urging mass participation in a scheduled public forum. They cited allegations ranging from misuse of public funds to misconduct in public.

Despite the court’s order, public support for the MCAs appears strong, signaling a heated political battle ahead.
