Public transport company Super Metro Limited has finally broken its silence regarding a recent tragic incident involving one of its buses in Kitengela, a situation that has since sparked serious reactions across various social media platforms.

The company has issued a statement regarding the tragic incident, informing the public of its awareness of reports surrounding a serious incident that allegedly occurred on 24/2/26 at 11pm in Kitengela. According to the statement, the company’s bus was traveling from Kitengela to Nairobi’s central business district with a number of passengers on board when it was stopped by a group of boda boda riders.

“Super Metro Limited is aware of reports concerning a serious incident that allegedly occurred on 24/2/26 in Kitengela at 11pm. Our vehicle KDK 060H enroute from Kitengela to Nairobi CBD with 32 passengers on board was stopped by an irate mob of boda boda riders claiming that the conductor had pushed a passenger from the bus.”

The company has since confirmed that the incident came as a shock to those on board and that preliminary information suggested that a fatality resulted from the incident.

“According to preliminary information the incident resulted to a fatality. The vehicle is currently in Athi river police station custody, and the driver and conductor are in police custody.”

The press release also condoled with the affected families, who had lost loved ones due to the accident.
