The National Police Service and Kenya Prisons Service have made it easy to sign up for the SHA Usalama Cover. You can choose to register online, via USSD, or in person. Here’s how:
Option 1: Online Registration
- Log into www.afyayangu.go.ke and click the Sign Up tab
- Read and agree to terms and conditions.
- Pick your ID type and fill in ID number, name, and phone number.
Click Proceed.
You will get a verification code on the phone number you provided.
Enter the code to complete your registration.
Option 2: USSD Registration
- On your phone dial *147#.
- Select Kenyan Citizen and enter ID number.
- Set your 4 digits PIN for your account.
- Select your civil and employment status. Then indicate whether you are living with a disability.
- Double check all details filled above before completing the process.
SHA will send you a confirmation message.
Option 3: In-Person Registration
- Register at designated SHA county offices and Huduma Centres.
- Provide your National ID
- A valid mobile number to authenticate with OTP,
- Dependant documents (if any), such as birth certificates, marriage certificate, or affidavit.
The process will be explained by the staff who will activate your account.
