Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda has clashed with a tweep who took issue with him distributing money to his county electorate.
It all started when Ojienda was filmed distributing the money, believed to be KSh 200 notes, to a group of women in a long queue.
The tweep, Kavuli Bernard, took issue with the donation, terming it as a mere handout. Kavuli insinuated that Ojienda was deceiving the electorate.
" Fellow Kenyans, is this how you want to be governed? Just look at Kisumu senator giving a handout of Sh200 to his electorates and people are celebrating and clapping for him. Like seriously? Why allow politicians to take us as beggars?" posed Kavuli.
However, in a quick rejoinder, Ojienda clapped back at Kavuli insisting that the donation was purely out of his generosity.
He dismissed the linkage between the donation and politics.
"I remain a professor of Law. A little generosity doesn’t hurt. I choose to give. This has nothing to do with politics. I am only greeting my people in my usual style," Ojienda responded.
