The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has confirmed that the Harambee Starlets will participate in the 2025 CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship, set to take place from June 12 to 22 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The regional tournament will feature five teams: Kenya, hosts Tanzania, South Sudan, Burundi, and Uganda.
It is organized by the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) in partnership with the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF).
This year’s edition serves as vital preparation for CECAFA’s representative at the 2025 Africa Women Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which kicks off in Morocco this July.
Meanwhile, the Harambee Starlets are currently in Morocco and will take on the host nation’s Atlas Lionesses in an international friendly in Tangier later this evening.
The match forms part of their ongoing build-up to the CECAFA Championship and other upcoming international engagements.
The Starlets’ participation in both the CECAFA tournament and international friendlies underscores FKF’s commitment to enhancing the national women’s team’s exposure to top-level competition.
