H.E. Dr. Garry Conille, Prime Minister of the Republic of Haiti, arrived in Kenya on Thursday for a high-level state visit.
He was warmly received by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, marking the beginning of a diplomatic engagement aimed at strengthening ties between Kenya and Haiti.
On Friday, Prime Minister Conille met with H.E. President William Samoei Ruto at State House, Nairobi.
The two leaders are expected to hold bilateral discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between their nations, particularly in areas of mutual interest such as security cooperation and regional stability.

Prime Minister Conille’s visit is seen as a pivotal moment in the deepening of diplomatic relations between Kenya and Haiti.
Both countries are keen to explore new partnerships, particularly in economic development and security collaboration.
This visit comes shortly after Kenya’s recent commitment to send an additional 600 police officers to Haiti to assist in combating gang violence that has plagued the capital, Port-au-Prince, and surrounding areas.

With this increase, the Kenyan contingent, deployed gradually since June, will reach a total of 1,000 officers.
President Ruto also reiterated Kenya’s support for transforming the current Kenya-led security mission in Haiti into a full United Nations peacekeeping operation, signaling a broader role for Kenya in global peace and security initiatives.
