Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika is finally back in the country after months-long maternity leave in the United States of America.

The new mum touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Friday, April 25, with her twin boys, accompanied by her family, to a heroic welcome.

Taking to social media, Kihika shared photos of her family and friends at her home, thanking them for a warm welcome back to the country.

"Truly blessed and overwhelmed with gratitude. Was deeply humbled and honored to receive a warm visit from my dear friends who came to welcome me home and celebrate the arrival of my twin babies.
Your love, prayers, and presence mean the world to me and my family. Thank you for standing with me in this special season of double blessings. Truly, there is nothing like the bond of friendship and support in leadership," said Kihika.

The Nakuru boss’ prolonged absence from the public eye and administrative duties had raised eyebrows, prompting the county to explain that she had traveled to the US.

In her absence, Kihika noted there was no leadership vacuum as her deputy, David Kones, was steering the county well.
