Government Announces New Job Opportunities

The government has advertised fresh job opportunities, with hundreds of positions up for grabs at various ministries, state agencies, and public universities.

The job opportunities were advertised on Tuesday, and different institutions encouraged qualified persons to send in their applications before the end of March.

KNQA is seeking to hire a Deputy Director of Human Resource Management and Development. The applicant must be holding a Master’s degree and have at least ten years of work experience.

The KeNHA, on the other hand, is seeking to hire 228 consultancy positions for road design projects covering 815 kilometers. This is part of World Bank-funded projects around the Lake Victoria Basin and will cover fiber optic cables installation. The applicants must have at least eight years of experience in road design.

The Affordable Housing Board is seeking to hire a Chief Executive Officer to lead the new state corporation that will be tasked with expanding affordable housing.

The SASRA is looking to hire a new CEO to serve for four years. The applicant must have at least ten years of experience in financial management.

The Teachers Service Commission, on the other hand, has five job openings, and applicants can send their applications online before March 9 on its website.

In the ICT industry, KenTrade is seeking to hire an Internal Auditor for Information Systems on a permanent basis. The candidate must meet chapter six requirements and be certified in information systems auditing.

The public universities are also seeking candidates to fill various vacancies. The Multimedia University of Kenya has advertised six senior positions, including the post of Registrar and Principal Procurement Officer, with applications set to close on the 18th of March.

Kenyatta University, through North Coast Beach Hotel, is seeking to hire various hospitality staff, including chefs and laundry attendants, with applications set to close on the 12th of March.

Other advertised positions are available at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development, which is seeking an Assistant Fitness Officer and a Senior Systems Analyst, with applications set to close on the 6th of March.

NACOSTI is seeking a chairperson and three board members, with the positions set to be advertised on the 15th of March, with applications set to close in mid-March.

KeNIA, on the other hand, is seeking a chairperson and four board members to oversee the nation’s innovation agenda, with the positions set to be advertised on the 15th of March.

All the institutions have warned applicants not to pay any money when applying for the jobs. Successful candidates will be required to present clearance documents such as a Certificate of Good Conduct and a Tax Compliance Certificate.

The announcement comes at a time when unemployment remains a major concern, especially among young people, with long queues often seen whenever job opportunities are advertised.
