Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba has been summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Taking to X, Wamuchomba said she was phoned by the Kiambu County Criminal Investigation Officer (CCIO) to appear at the Kiambu Police Station.
The exact reason for the summons is yet to be established, but some quarters link it to her alleged incitement of crowds against President William Ruto during his visit to Githunguri on Friday, April 4.
The MP, a close ally of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, is accused of mobilising her constituents, who accorded President Ruto a hostile reception during his visit to Kiambu.
The seemingly mobilised crowd chanted anti-Ruto slogans.
