President William Ruto And DCP Leader Rigathi Gachagua

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua turned a requiem mass for the late Ol Kalou MP David Kiaraho into a strong message on national unity and political fairness, urging President William Ruto to embrace all communities equally.

Speaking during the emotional service in Nyandarua County, Gachagua called for an end to ethnic labeling in political engagements, warning that such rhetoric risks deepening divisions at a time when the country needs cohesion.

He reminded Ruto of the overwhelming support he received from the Mount Kenya region during the 2022 elections, emphasizing the importance of maintaining trust between leaders and their communities.

“You’re my brother; I request you to create peace with the Kikuyu community,” he said, adding that leaders must avoid language that portrays any community in a negative light.

Gachagua also urged the President to be cautious when addressing different regions, cautioning against statements that could be interpreted as divisive or unfair to certain groups.

“When you go to the Luo community, do not call us tribalists,” he added, calling for equal respect across all ethnic communities.
