Embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of former Tharaka Nithi County Woman Representative, Hon. Beatrice Nkatha Nyaga.
In a heartfelt statement, Gachagua described Hon. Nkatha as a dedicated public servant who prioritized the needs of her people and consistently strived to make a difference in her community.
“It was with deep sadness that I learnt of the passing on of the former Tharaka Nithi County Woman Representative Hon. Beatrice Nkatha Nyaga. Hon. Nkatha was a friendly, people-focused servant—a leader who stopped at nothing to deliver the best in discharging her duties,” Gachagua remarked.
Reflecting on their time serving together in the 12th Parliament, Gachagua praised Nkatha’s leadership and personal qualities, highlighting their close friendship.
“During the time we served together in the 12th Parliament, I got to know Mheshimiwa Nkatha—a resoundingly resourceful leader—as a motherly and genuine friend. Indeed, we have lost a transformative leader,” he added.
Gachagua extended his condolences to the late leader’s family, friends, and the people of Tharaka Nithi, emphasizing the significant loss of a leader who had made a lasting impact on those she served.
“May the Lord comfort her family, relatives, and friends. Rest in peace, Mheshimiwa Nkatha,” the Deputy President concluded.
