Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has emphasized the importance of citizen participation in addressing the country’s challenges, stating that Kenyans have practical solutions to the nation’s problems.
Speaking after a consultative meeting with a delegation from Samburu County, Gachagua noted that through ongoing discussions, he has observed that citizens are aware of what is going wrong and have viable ideas on how to fix it.
“Today, I met a team from Samburu County and listened to their views and opinions on various national issues, as well as their expectations and ideas on how to address them,” Gachagua said.

“One of the most impressive things I have experienced during these consultations is that Kenyans know what is going wrong, and they have simple and practical suggestions of what we need to do to fix what’s not working. Essentially, the solutions to our problems are within us,” he added.
The former DP stressed the need for inclusivity in governance, stating that all citizens should feel like they are part of the political and economic transformation of the country.

“All we need to do is ensure that every Kenyan feels part of the process we are embarking on. We will reorient our political discourse,” he said.
Gachagua has been actively engaging various leaders and citizens as he continues to shape his political strategy ahead of the 2027 elections.

“The consultations continue,” he affirmed.
