Rigathi Gachagua has removed the ‘Deputy President’ title from his official social media profiles just hours after Prof. Kithure Kindiki was sworn in as his successor.
The former deputy president has updated his X bio, changing it from “Husband. Father. Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya” to simply “Husband. Father. Kenyan.”
He also altered his Facebook and X cover photos, replacing a group image featuring himself, Pastor Dorcas, President William Ruto, and First Lady Rachell Ruto with a solo shot of him lifting his hands as if in prayer.
These changes came shortly after Gachagua broke his silence following the swearing-in ceremony at KICC, Nairobi.
He shared a photo of himself with his family—wife Pastor Dorcas and their two children—relaxing on the grass at his home in Central Kenya.

Gachagua spent his day with wife and children in Nyeri.
In his post, Gachagua expressed gratitude for his family, noting his excitement about returning to his routine morning walks through Hombe Forest.
Pastor Dorcas shared the same photo on her social media, accompanied by two Bible verses, emphasizing her family’s gratitude to God despite their current circumstances.
