Thousands flocked to the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) today to witness the swearing-in of Kithure Kindiki as Kenya’s third Deputy President.

The crowd of around 10,000 included notable leaders, top government officials, and enthusiastic citizens, all gathered to celebrate this pivotal event.

Among the distinguished attendees were Senate Speaker Amason Kingi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, signaling strong legislative support for the new administration.

Governors from Mt. Kenya East, such as Meru’s Kawira Mwangaza and Embu’s Cecily Mbarire, joined in to show regional pride in Kindiki’s appointment.

President William Ruto praised Kindiki’s dedication and capabilities, stating, “Prof. Kithure Kindiki is an exemplary leader whose focus and experience will mobilize the government toward delivering ‘The Plan’ for the people.”

Ruto highlighted Kindiki’s role in promoting unity and breaking ethnic divides, essential to the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, also in attendance, congratulated Kindiki, describing the occasion as a “significant moment for our nation.”

Chief Justice Martha Koome, Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, and Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah were also present.

Ichung’wah expressed his support, remarking, “Congratulations H.E. Prof. Kithure Kindiki, Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya.”

Citizens celebrated in song and dance, some paying homage to Kindiki’s Ameru heritage with traditional songs.

The high turnout at the KICC reflected both excitement and broad support for Kindiki’s new role, marking a memorable start to his tenure as Deputy President.
