Impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday, April 13, visited the family of the late Janet Marania Teiyaa in Kajiado to console them following her demise.
Gachagua described the former Kajiado County Woman Representative as a remarkable leader and a dedicated advocate for our community, and her loss would be deeply felt by all who had the honor of knowing and working with her.
However, drama ensued when the former DP attempted to address a section of the Kajiado residents who had seemingly also convened to mourn Teiyaa.
As Gachagua took the microphone to speak, the residents shouted him down, chanting President William Ruto’s name on top of their voices.
Despite efforts by the present leaders to calm the crowd, the residents persisted in their chants, praising President Ruto and recognising him as their leader.
According to a video seen by this publication, Gachagua, who has been painting Ruto’s government in bad light, remained tight-lipped, not knowing what to do.
