Harold Ndege, a former Tusker defender, has been named the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Football Kenya Federation (FKF).
In a statement, FKF President Hussein Mohammed extended his congratulations to Ndege, expressing confidence in his leadership abilities to drive the federation to new heights.
“Harold Ndege has his work cut out for him, and we are pleased to have concluded this process. His experience in both football administration and management will be pivotal in steering FKF forward,” Hussein remarked.
Ndege takes over from Patrick Korir, who resigned after completing his tenure at Kandanda House.
Korir had stepped in as interim CEO last year following the resignation of Barry Otieno, who contested the FKF presidency during December’s elections.
Hussein also acknowledged Korir’s contribution during the transition, thanking him for his professionalism and dedication. “I would like to extend my gratitude to Patrick Korir for ensuring a smooth transition. To aid in the handover, Korir will continue to offer guidance to the incoming CEO over the next few weeks,” he added.
Ndege’s appointment came after a day-long deliberation by the National Executive Committee (NEC). There had been speculation about a three-way contest for the position, with Collins Bob Otieno and former Wazito CEO Dennis Gicheru also in the running.
The 44-year-old is now tasked with managing the day-to-day operations of the federation, with a focus on improving governance, financial management, and operational efficiency.
